David Renzetti

Carpenter

Tell us about the best wrap gift you’ve ever received…
On the remake of Poltergeist, they did one of the first drone shots down a street, right through a window, and down the hallway of a haunted house. As a crew gift, I received one of the first-ever quad copters with a camera. I brought it home and it was immediately claimed by my 12-year-old son!

Featured Role/Stand In

I have worked on many sets, and not every set gives a gift. The one that stands out the most to me the most is the Origin wrap gift. I received a tote bag and an electronic hand harmer that said ARRAY. Now, when working on cold nights I'll share it with others and let them warm up, it’s a good way to make friends.

Joy Ngiaw

Composer

One of the best wrap gifts I've received is a hand-drawn storybook of our film, "Blush" (Apple TV+), gifted by our director, Joe Mateo. The storybook was illustrated by Joe, and the text was written by his daughter, Joey. "Blush" is a personal story based on my director's true experience of losing his wife, Mary Anne, to breast cancer, and finding the strength to move on through the support of his daughters. Therefore, the wrapped gift was particularly meaningful and filled with heart.

Kevin Kennedy

Key Grip

Kerry Washington gave EVERYONE on the crew 5 gifts. The first gift was on Monday and the last was on Friday. Friday’s was a bed of any size for the sleep that we all lost. The other gifts included an iPad, gym membership, a Go Pro, and speakers.

Lenny Mercurio

Driver

I think the most well-thought-out wrap gift was on a shoot that had a lot of rain and several lightning delays. On the last day of filming, they gave us lightweight, hooded rain jackets which we were able to put to immediate use. I still use that jacket frequently. It’s my go-to for wet-weather hiking.

Maggy François

Costume Designer & Casting Director

The best wrap gift I ever received was a special one-of-a-kind art piece by Jasmine Guy. When she’s on set in between takes, she paints to calm her mind, body, and soul. As you all know it can be extremely hard with all the hustle and bustle on set. I never knew that when I saw her painting, she at one point would be making art for me. It was incredibly special to see her behind the scenes creating a unique piece of artwork that was made for me.
