Meet the Team: Tiaira Muhammad

Can you share a bit about your background and where you're from?

I’m from Los Angeles, California and I graduated from the University of Southern California… so not a total surprise I ended up working in entertainment. Prior to Impact Crew, I worked in the mailroom at CAA, then eventually as an assistant in the TV Department. From there, I worked in creative development at FX Networks followed by Amazon in Unscripted, Local Originals. The connections I made along the way certainly aid what I do now.

Could you provide insights into your role at Impact Crew?

I’m the User Experience and Engagement Coordinator at Impact Crew. Every day is different which is very exciting! But essentially what I do is gather feedback from both the crew and our studio partners to help our Product team make our tools better and better. It’s really rewarding to see direct feedback morph into an actual feature!

In your experience at Impact Crew, what aspect of your work do you find fulfilling or rewarding?

I really enjoy opportunities to connect and give back in-person. Nothing beats a face-to-face interaction! I was able to meet a lot of real crew users by attending events hosted by the local unions, and Impact Crew has done a lot of work this year to keep PAs engaged through our PArty and supporting Group Effort Initiative with their Production Bootcamp. I get such a boost of energy from paying it forward.

If you had the opportunity to collaborate with anyone in this industry, who would it be?

Issa Rae. We’re both Inglewood girls. She just gets it.

What is your favorite movie or TV show of all time?

Miss Congeniality always. My current comfort show is Living Single.
