Impact Crew, founded by Ron Howard and Brian Grazer with CEO Tyler Mitchell is set to expand in Australia with recruiting tools for crewing.

“We are making Australia our focus for the year. This decision is driven by the country’s robust entertainment industry and openness to innovative tools,” says co-founder and CEO, Tyler Mitchell.

Ron Howard’s Eden and two other major productions in Australia have already utilised Impact Crew.

“The film and TV industry hinges on assembling large teams with specialized skills to create content, but hiring remains one of its biggest inefficiencies,” says Mitchell. “Our platform simplifies and accelerates the way productions hire crew, making it easier to bring projects to life and unlock more opportunities for industry professionals.”

Impact Crew has a specialised search engine that can filter its global crew network, including over 17,000 profiles of Australian crew – to quickly pinpoint the best candidates for the job and immediately identify their availability, while also offering crew a platform to showcase their credentials and network online, rather than relying on solely personal connections and word of mouth.

Impact Crew’s AvailCheck tool simplifies the hiring process, making it quicker and easier to crew up. It’s widely used by producers and studios internationally. The company will soon launch its new AvailCheck AI Search Tool which is designed to further speed up the hiring process by identifying crew members with their skill sets and availability, connecting producers, studios, and crew worldwide.

In addition to revolutionizing crew hiring, Impact Crew is dedicated to enhancing efficiency and saving time for productions through streamlined communication. Effective communication within a production is critical, given the complexities of coordinating numerous individuals and vendors to avoid costly delays.

CrewChat, a cornerstone feature of Impact Crew, debuted in January and successfully supported Ron Howard’s Eden during filming in Queensland. This integrated communication tool replaces outdated methods like email and SMS, offering digitized crew lists, 1:1 and group messaging capabilities, real-time set updates, and seamless file distribution.
